STCW stands for Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers.
It is an international convention established by the IMO (International Maritime Organization).

All seafarers must complete STCW-approved safety training before joining any merchant vessel, cruise ship, or offshore platform.

Basic Safety Training (BST) is mandatory for:

• New candidates joining the merchant navy

• Cruise ship crew members

• Offshore oil & gas workers

• Any person working onboard a commercial vessel

It is the first step to start a maritime career.

BST includes the following modules:

• Personal Survival Techniques (PST)

• Fire Prevention & Firefighting (FPFF)

• Elementary First Aid (EFA)

• Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities (PSSR)

Students must provide:

• Valid passport copy

• Citizenship certificate

• Passport-size photographs

• Medical fitness certificate

• Educational qualification documents
